Are We Watching History Repeat Itself?

Today I want to pose a question to you. There is no answer, let alone a right one, just thoughts. Yes, philosophy is unsatisfying as there is no exact payoff of a right answer.
ANYWAY! Today is February 17, 2022 and I keep seeing reports of Russia searching for a false pretext to justify invading Ukraine. That link will take you to a BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation not big black you know what) article that was LIVE at the time with the headline reading “Russia looking for excuse to invade Ukraine – Biden.” The article detailing the events of the current events.
Then as I finished cooking breakfast, I saw a YouTube video titled “Russia claims it found mass graves in Ukraine” which was published February 16, 2022 (obviously before the article I saw) opening with ABC’s anchor saying, “Russia is now saying it has opened an investigation in the claims of alleged mass graves of civilians supposedly killed by Ukraine forces.”
An extremely bold claim, I do encourage you to watch ABC's video and read BBC's article to formulate your own thoughts and opinions. I am not here to tell you what to think,
BUT what I am here to do is carry on the legacy of philosophers before me.
Ask questions. Questions can be dangerous. Just ask Epstein.
Like a child unsatisfied with a parental, “because I said so” I am becoming unsatisfied with 9/11 solely being carried out by enemies of America.
I see it this way: The U.S. and Saudi have been friends for over 70 years, right?

Apparently so.
Wouldn’t carrying out a false flag attack against your own nation be easier if you had another ally to contribute to it? You know, good cop bad cop, only in this case its good nation bad nation and we are just protecting ourselves?
That is the narrative that Russia is using on its own people according to ABC's YouTube video. They just don’t have a bad nation to make the lie as convincing to the masses, as I see the U.S. did.
Nationalism is something I fell for so hard because I have daddy issues. (Moms keep your daughters off the pole and Dads keep your sons out of formation…haha military joke)
Back to it, wouldn’t Russia’s plan of a false flag attack go a lot smoother if they had an ally to work with? Another “superpower” to help orchestrate a turn of events that justifies a war?
We justified going into Afghanistan and after Osama bin Laden under the noble flag of patriotism after 9/11.
Except none of the hijackers came from Afghanistan. Then where did they come from? How many 9/11 attackers came from Afghanistan? How many were from other Muslim nations? How many were from Saudi Arabia?
A nation that in 2018 was accused by not only the U.S. intelligence community of plotting and killing a prominent journalist, Jamal Khashoggi but by other nations as well.

Curious to say the least. Here’s why I find it curious as well.
In 2014 I served in Saudi Arabia. I had been there for almost a year and started becoming close with other employees. The compound wasn’t too big so most of us would hang out after work. One of my close friends, a foreign service officer told me that a majority of the 9/11 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia.
Seven in fact (allegedly) from the post we were serving at. Meaning there were investigations into at least seven of these individuals before they were given travel visas to the United States. Something that really hadn’t mattered to me until seeing these reports on Russia. Cool fact, but who cares or knows if it's true?
I assert we are a nation in peril because we have allowed ourselves to become entertained instead of caring about those around the world. We ignore the truth and avoid seeking it, we just believe what we agree with (confirmation bias look it up, maybe I'm doing that here) because it's an easier option.
I may not know if 9/11 was an inside job but I can ask questions: if a majority of the attackers came from Saudi how did the Taliban radicalize them to join? Why were there more Saudis in the attack than other nations when Saudi is supposedly an ally?
Why were there no Afghan nationals in the attack and mainly American allies???
If Russia had an ally like that, would they formulate a plot to justify a war with another nation? I fear they would. I also fear what our own government would do to keep their own power.
They are both ran by humans who can be seduced into evil by power after all.
Ever heard of Operation Northwoods? Click that link to learn about how the U.S. planned to carry out their own in 1962.
I pray not I am not watching another 9/11 start because I am afraid of mutually assured destruction. I am not trying to fear monger, I am only pointing out the bad I see. I am asking you to think about the similarities of 9/11 and what is happening in Russia right now.
I know I have a bias so please help me evaluate the situation.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
I do not want my sons or daughters of this world to be political pawns anymore. To be controlled by emotions that cloud the soul with shouts of “justice.”
This is why critical thought is important to me. This is why the truth is important to me. Because I want people to make smart logical decisions that will lead us to a brighter future.
I want to live in a fantasy world where we realize we are not American, Russian, Ukrainian, whatever nationality but humans.
Humans who inhabit this world would never want to lose their own son or daughter in conflict.
Yet, we are too big of cowards to pay attention and stop it.
Here’s to no bloodshed.

[Update I can't directly insert a NBC's Nightly News video but if you click HERE you can]
A video published on February 17, 2022 by NBC's Nightly News gives us an official update on the Russia Ukraine situation.
At (00:47) the current Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterates "Russia plans to manufacturer a pretext for its attack. It could be a fabricated so-called terrorist bombing inside Russia, the invented discovery of a mass grave, or a fake or even a real attack using chemical weapons."
Saying Russian media has already begun to spread some of these narratives. As mentioned above in ABC's YouTube Video we know that statement to be true.
What worries me comes at (1:36): "Ukrainian police and military say Russian-backed separatists attacked Ukrainian towns and villages, damaging a kindergarten." Thankfully the video says no children were hurt.
I know this video came out on the same day but all I'm saying is we found the missing piece to Russia's false flag operation. Did the U.S. have one?
I am only trying to do what I was taught in the Marines and that is to keep everyone accountable, including higher ups. Even the nation that I love, I am trying to be a Marine and a Journalist and ask what I believe to be hard questions that matter.
